Drafting Articles of Incorporation -- $19.95

Incorporating as a nonprofit corporation is the first step many nonprofits take. Many states provide online forms that you can use to incorporate. However, states often do not include the additional language the IRS requires for inclusion in the articles. This step-by-step workshop walks you through drafting and filing the articles of incorporation for your organization.

Drafting Bylaws -- $19.95

Most state laws require nonprofit corporations to have bylaws. Bylaws also must be included with an IRS exemption application. Bylaws set forth the rules for how the organization will operate, including how the board of directors is elected, how often the board meets, and how the bylaws may be amended. This course provides a sample set of bylaws that you may modify to the specific needs of your organization. Descriptions of each provision and options to customize the bylaws for your organization are provided in an annotated set of bylaws. Provisions to meet new requirements for financial accountability, including audit committee guidelines under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, a conflict of interest provision that meets IRS requirements, and tips on record retention also are included.

Drafting & filing IRS Form 1023 – federal tax-exemption -- $49.95

This course walks you step-by-step through IRS Form 1023. Tips on how to apply online to obtain a federal EIN (employer identification number) also is provided. Sandy provides tips and formatting tools to help you complete the application without losing yourself in the paperwork. By providing you with audio and written instructions, sample forms and attachments, explanations of what the IRS is really looking for, and what makes an application likely to get mired in red-tape, Sandy helps you get through the process as easily as possible.
